Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in Las Vegas, NV within the financial services industry. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong GAAP knowledge, hands-on general ledger experience, and the ability to support accurate financial reporting in a deadline-driven environment.

The Staff Accountant will report to the Controller and play an important role in maintaining financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close, preparing reports, and helping strengthen accounting processes and internal controls. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys working with leadership, collaborating across accounting functions, and contributing to a stable, professional finance team.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile bank accounts, and maintain accurate general ledger records.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including financial reporting and account analysis.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
- Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and audit support.
- Help ensure compliance with GAAP policies while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $68,000 to $80,000 per year.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Location: Las Vegas, NV.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger account analysis.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis.
- Support audits, internal controls, and GAAP compliance.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Five years of accounting experience.
- Advanced understanding of GAAP principles.
- Previous experience using ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including strong Excel capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- CPA preferred but not required.
