UW Medical Center-Northwest - Neuromodulation Clinic has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse .

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
  • Day shifts from 6:00am - 2:30pm

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Garvey Institute Center for Neuromodulation provides outpatient, evidence-based Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) services for adult patients with major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, catatonia, and schizophrenia. Clinical staff regularly work with patients under anesthesia and provide procedural support before, during, and after the ECT and TMS procedures.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide nursing care to ambulatory behavioral health patients receiving Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) treatment under general anesthesia
  • Provide nursing care to ambulatory behavioral health patients receiving Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), which is a non-invasive procedure
  • Perform pre-procedure intake assessments, including assessments of the patient's physical and psychological states
  • Conduct p re-procedure calls to outpatients
  • Conduct care coordination ahead of inpatient ECT appointments
  • Monitor and provide care for patients during all phases of procedural care
  • Help manage emergencies and complications while patients are sedated
  • Provide phase I and phase II anesthesia support
  • Recover patients post-treatment, prepare patients for discharge, and educate patients regarding home care
  • Conduct telephone triage, Epic in-basket management, care coordination, and referral review
  • Promote efficient patient flow through accurate record keeping

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 year of recent perioperative, emergency department, or ambulatory procedural experience
  • Active ACLS (required by start date)
  • Active PALS (required by start date)
  • Active BLS (required by state date)
  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$45.59 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$83.64 hourly

Other Compensation:

BSN (or higher) premium - $1.00/hour Certification premium - $1.25/hour Overtime pay
