Salary: $90,000 - 120,000 per year Requirements:
- We are looking for someone with at least five years of hands-on enterprise networking experience.
- We need strong experience supporting Cisco-based network environments.
- You should be able to troubleshoot complex networking problems with confidence.
- Experience with network monitoring, maintenance, patching, and lifecycle management is required.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability are essential.
- You must be able to work independently and manage technical priorities with limited supervision.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills are necessary.
- A customer-focused approach to technical service delivery is important.
- Experience creating technical documentation, maintenance plans, test plans, and implementation procedures is required.
- You must be able to explain technical information clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through are expected.
- We require hands-on experience with several of the following technologies: Cisco IOS, Cisco switches and routers, Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco Nexus, Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco CX Cloud, ServiceNow, and SolarWinds.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure networking, firewalls and network security, VPNs, wireless radio systems such as Cambium, SASE, load balancing, network segmentation and security architecture, cloud connectivity and hybrid networking, or enterprise wireless technologies would be an asset.
- Fluent English is required.
- Enterprise networking experience of five years is required.
- The role is based in Calgary, Alberta, with hybrid remote work arrangements.
Responsibilities: - We will ask you to monitor, maintain, and support enterprise network and communications infrastructure on a day-to-day basis.
- You will track the health, availability, capacity, and performance of network systems.
- You will maintain switching, routing, and wireless environments to keep them operating efficiently.
- You will carry out preventative maintenance and proactive monitoring to reduce outages and service interruptions.
- You will review alerts, incidents, and service tickets.
- You will identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to strengthen reliability and efficiency.
- You will diagnose and resolve complex performance, connectivity, and configuration issues.
- You will troubleshoot routing, switching, wireless, communications, and related infrastructure.
- You will upgrade device hardware, software, and firmware as needed.
- You will coordinate incident response and escalations with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
- You will document root causes, fixes, and preventive actions.
- You will communicate issue status, business impact, and resolution clearly to stakeholders.
- You will monitor, patch, and maintain Cisco network infrastructure.
- You will perform firmware and software updates across Cisco environments.
- You will support lifecycle planning for network devices, software, and support contracts.
- You will maintain Cisco Catalyst Center, Nexus, ACI, and related platforms.
- You will identify aging, unsupported, or vulnerable infrastructure and recommend remediation or replacement plans.
- You will prepare maintenance plans, implementation plans, and test plans for upgrades and changes.
- You will complete post-change checks to confirm systems are working as expected.
- You will assist with the design, implementation, and deployment of new network systems and equipment.
- You will participate in network refreshes, expansions, migrations, and modernization projects.
- You will provide technical guidance on network architecture, hardware selection, and implementation methods.
- You will develop project schedules, technical requirements, and implementation documentation.
- You will perform testing, validation, and post-deployment support.
- You will work closely with project managers, technical specialists, vendors, and client teams to ensure successful delivery.
- You will take part in client meetings, technical reviews, and account discussions.
- You will build an understanding of each clients network environment, business needs, and operational priorities.
- You will provide clear recommendations and explain risks, options, and expected outcomes.
- You will follow through on client requests, commitments, and action items.
- You will help keep client environments well documented, supported, and maintained.
- You will build trusted, long-term client relationships through responsiveness, accountability, and technical expertise.
- You will work with vendors to resolve technical issues and manage escalations.
- You will handle vendor support cases and coordinate troubleshooting activities.
- You will assist with support contract, maintenance, and renewal needs.
- You will support the use of Cisco CX Cloud and related vendor support platforms.
- You will maintain awareness of vendor product lifecycles, support requirements, software releases, and best practices.
- You will develop and maintain network diagrams, configuration records, and technical documentation.
- You will create functional requirements, specifications, and implementation documents as needed.
- You will document maintenance procedures, test plans, operational processes, and support requirements.
- You will keep accurate records of device health, changes, incidents, and lifecycle status.
- You will help establish repeatable technical standards and operational practices across client environments.
- You will keep your knowledge current across enterprise networking technologies and best practices.
- You will stay informed about new network, cloud, and cybersecurity technologies.
- You will participate in vendor training, technical enablement, and certification programs.
- You will share knowledge with other members of our technical team.
- You will contribute to the continued growth of our networking services and technical capabilities.
