Overview

The Military Acculturation Advisor/Leader (MAL) is responsible for supporting an English Language Training (ELT) program at our client’s facility. This role ensures the effective military acculturation of International Military Students (IMSs) through oversight, leadership, and mentorship designed to foster professional military attitudes, skills, and behavior. The MAL works collaboratively with Country Liaison Officers (CLOs), Military Training Leaders (MTLs), and program managers to achieve acculturation, academic success, and program goals. The MAL provides continuous, on-site oversight of students on a 24/7/365 basis with a work schedule of Sunday - Thursday from 1 pm - 9 pm CST.

Responsibilities

• Document and inform the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and Program Manager of significant discipline or non-compliance issues involving ELT IMSs.
• Assist ELT instructors with documentation of academic and disciplinary issues and with the conduct of Academic Boards (ABs).
• Partner with MTLs to conduct student counseling sessions addressing lack of motivation, discipline, or academic progress.
• Assist the Testing Control Officer (TCO) and/or ELT instructors in administering ALCPT tests as required.
• Follow applicable client’s Instructions, Joint Security Cooperation Education and Training (JSCET) guidance, and all current Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) policy memorandums to ensure accountability of enrolled students.
• At the beginning of each duty day, annotate student accountability using the contractor-developed student management database.
• Train IMSs to make maximum use of client’s limited facilities. This may include establishing scheduled times for use of facilities identified by the Technical Program Manager (TPM) and/or COR such as laundry, dining facilities, prayer rooms, and other approved base facilities.
• Conduct weekly dormitory inspections in accordance with a COR-provided, locally developed checklist. With COR approval, best practices may be used to refine or update inspection criteria.
• Ensure students conduct weekly linen exchange.
• Report all dormitory repairs or breakage to the U.S. Government Facility Manager in a timely manner.
• As required, support MTLs in marching IMSs, or independently march IMSs to all on-base activities in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.
• Report IMSs who do not adhere to prescribed grooming and uniform standards (with the exception of authorized facial hair standards) to the appropriate MTL.
• Transport and escort IMSs to and from Wichita Falls Regional Airport and ensure each student is properly checked in for their flight.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a military supervisor.
• Prior experience as a military instructor is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and counsel military personnel or trainees in a structured environment.
• Valid Driver’s License and insurance.
• Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
• Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Professional office environment, with the ability to work onsite in the main office.
• Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
• Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
• Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.

• May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
• May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.

Pay Range

USD $28.00 - USD $28.00 /Hr.
