Location: Boston Metro Area â Hybrid (2 days/week in office: Monday & Wednesday) | Westborough, MA
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a field-based scientific expert supporting clinical engagement and education on innovative diagnostic technologies used to evaluate liver disease and metabolic disorders. This role will act as a key liaison between the organization and healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and key opinion leaders (KOLs), providing high-level scientific exchange and supporting clinical initiatives across the United States.
Serve as the primary scientific contact for external experts, clinicians, and healthcare organizations regarding the companyâs non-invasive diagnostic technology and its clinical applications in the U.S.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders and stakeholders in hepatology, gastroenterology, and metabolic disease.
Provide scientific and clinical support to commercial and marketing teams while maintaining medical independence and compliance with medical governance standards.
Deliver medical education, clinical presentations, and training to healthcare professionals, institutions, and conference audiences.
Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to identify and support clinical research initiatives, investigator-initiated trials (IITs), and real-world evidence projects.
Monitor and analyze emerging clinical data, guidelines, and publications related to liver disease, fibrosis, MASLD, and metabolic disorders.
Contribute to the development and review of medical materials, scientific communications, and educational resources.
Participate in advisory boards, medical congresses, and symposia as a scientific representative.
Ensure all interactions with healthcare professionals comply with regulatory, ethical, and company standards.
Advanced degree in life sciences required (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent). MD strongly preferred.
Minimum of 3â5 years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison or related field-based medical role within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry.
Strong knowledge of hepatology, gastroenterology, liver disease, or metabolic disorders preferred.
Demonstrated experience engaging with key opinion leaders and delivering high-quality scientific exchange.
Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
Willingness to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory and occasionally internationally (1â2 trips annually).
