Job Description

MalaceHR is seeking two experienced Maintenance Mechanics to support a large manufacturing and government facility. This role is ideal for a well-rounded, seasoned technician with strong hands-on experience across building systems, plumbing, and preventative maintenance.

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building systems and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general building maintenance and repairs across facility systems
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, HVAC, boilers, and cooling systems
• Complete preventative maintenance (PMs) to reduce equipment downtime
• Manage and respond to work orders in a timely manner
• Maintain restrooms, common areas, and facility infrastructure
• Perform basic HVAC maintenance including filter and belt changes
• Support building systems such as:
  • Temperature and pressure control systems
  • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Indoor air quality systems
• Assist with painting, minor repairs, and general upkeep
• Maintain spare parts inventory and equipment records
• Participate in safety programs, training, and compliance initiatives
• Coordinate with specialized HVAC technicians for advanced system issues

Required Skills & Experience

• Well-rounded, “jack-of-all-trades” maintenance experience
• Strong background in:
  • Plumbing
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Work order management systems
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
• Ability to present professionally in a client-facing environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical or trade school training preferred (not required)
• Minimum 1+ year of experience in building maintenance (more preferred)
• Ability to follow company and client policies and procedures

Certifications & Licenses

• Valid driver’s license required
• Certifications are a plus but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
• Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
• Ability to work at heights and use ladders up to 30 feet
• Ability to carry tools while climbing ladders (up to 20 lbs tool bag)
