Bookkeeper

JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you have any bookkeeping practice? If so, we want to meet you!


As a bookkeeper, you will handle everyday fiscal responsibilities that include but are not limited to Accounts Payable functions, monthly reconciliations, spend downs, payments, and payroll.


Independent Living, Inc. is a consumer-directed, cross-discapability advocacy and service organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals living in the Hudson Valley region and we seek to hire a Bookkeeper to assist with fiscal related matters as required by the needs of the department while maintaining the fiscal integrity of the agency. Associates degree with concentration in accounting with 2-4 years of bookkeeping practice or 6 years related practice. practice with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel preferred

tasks AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

»Maintain Accounts Payable function:

»Process accounts payable on a bi-weekly basis

»Create and maintain expense allocations

»Analyze invoices and expenses for trends and cost saving opportunities

»Update various tracking schedules as needed

»Maintain Accounts Payable Filing

»Create and maintain accrued and prepaid expenses

»Prepare monthly health assessment payments

»Prepare monthly spend down invoices and track payments

»Prepare monthly bank reconciliations

»Post deposits to accounting software (remote deposits)

»Maintain ADP Database (Independent Home Care)

»Primary contact for ID assignments

»Primary contact for employees W2 and paystub requests

»Assist with Payroll functions

»Post IHC payroll journal entry

»Post ILI payroll journal entry as needed

»Assist with billing functions

»Back up on billing as needed

»Assist with monthly closing activities

»Various special projects as needed

»Other fiscal related matters as required by the needs of the department, maintaining the fiscal integrity of the agency

Qualifications required
