Job Description

The Hotel Houseman is responsible for supporting the housekeeping team by maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of public areas, assisting room attendants, delivering supplies, and ensuring guests receive prompt and courteous service. This role helps create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all guests. Compensation: $20 - $22 Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain hotel public areas, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, restrooms, and meeting spaces.
  • Assist room attendants by delivering linens, towels, toiletries, and other housekeeping supplies.
  • Remove trash, soiled linens, and recycling from guest rooms and designated areas.
  • Restock housekeeping carts, storage rooms, and supply closets.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests, such as delivering extra towels, pillows, blankets, or amenities.
  • Set up and break down meeting rooms or event spaces as directed.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged property to the appropriate department.
  • Vacuum, dust, mop, and perform routine cleaning tasks to maintain hotel standards.
  • Follow all hotel safety, sanitation, and security policies and procedures.
  • Assist with deep-cleaning projects and other housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with housekeeping staff and other hotel departments to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate housekeeping equipment and cleaning tools.
  • Must be able to work in various indoor environments and occasionally outdoors.
