The most important duty of a delivery driver is to drive safely to and from their destination. Drivers are often expected to help with the loading and unloading of their products, keep logs of their activities, and make sure their vehicles are maintained in a good working order.
- Drive tank truck to deliver gasoline, diesel, oil or lubricants to customers
- Open valves or start pumps to fill tanks
- Read gauges or meters and record quantities loaded and delivered
- Connect hoses to tanks or other trucks
- Attach ground wire to truck when needed
- Position requires good eyesight, hearing and good physical condition
- Ability to work flexible hours, overtime and weekends
- Basic math and good communication skills are a must
- Must be able to operate a forklift
