Access Control Technician
Location: Carrollton, TX (On-site)

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Access Control Technician to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain access control systems, CCTV/IP camera systems, intrusion alarms, and other low-voltage
security equipment.
This hands-on role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams to deliver high-quality installations and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Commissioning:
Install, configure, and commission access control systems, CCTV/IP camera systems, intrusion alarms, and other low-voltage security equipment.
Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling.
Install and mount card readers, electronic locks, control panels, cameras, NVRs/DVRs, and related hardware.
Perform system start-up, testing, and verification to ensure proper functionality.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, wiring, and system-related issues.
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to maximize system performance and reliability.
Replace or repair faulty components and calibrate system devices as needed.
Project Support:
Coordinate with Project Managers, General Contractors, and customers to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and technical documentation.
Document completed work, service activities, and technical findings.
Safety & Quality:
Follow company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and industry best practices.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and ensure installations meet customer and project requirements.
Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company positively at customer sites.
Required Qualifications:
Experience installing, servicing, or maintaining access control, CCTV/IP camera, intrusion alarm, or other low-voltage security systems.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Knowledge of low-voltage wiring, electrical fundamentals, power supplies, and safe work practices.
Experience installing and configuring:
Access control panels
Card readers
Electronic door hardware
CCTV cameras
NVR/DVR systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals.
Proficient with hand and power tools used in low-voltage installations.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
Ability to lift and carry equipment and work in various indoor and outdoor environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in low-voltage security system installation or service.
Technical certifications or vocational training related to low-voltage systems, security systems, or electronics.
Experience working with commercial, industrial, multifamily, or residential security installations.
